EXFO Acquires NetHawk to Create a New Force in Wireless Testing and Service Assurance
On March 12, 2010, EXFO Inc. announced its acquisition of NetHawk. This acquisition unites two high-quality suppliers of network testing and converged service assurance solutions.
NetHawk, no. 2 worldwide in load testing, simulators and wireless protocol analyzers, brings to EXFO 20 years of experience in the wireless industry and leadership in 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE testing, which will enable EXFO to deliver core-to-edge test and service assurance solutions for converged IP fixed-mobile network--which happens to be EXFO's long-term focus.
We are confident that EXFO's leadership and global presence, combined with NetHawk's deep wireless knowledge, will create a new force in test and service assurance of wireless networks and will bring a number of benefits to customers:
- Network operations: NetHawk's M5 wireless protocol analyzers add real-time, detailed LTE user plane and control plane analysis to EXFO's renowned portable test and measurement offering, which already comprises market-leading optical, Ethernet and mobile backhaul automated test solutions offered in an all-in-one platform
- Network simulation: NetHawk EAST brings flexible load and functional testing for converging LTE networks, complemented by EXFO's carrier-class VoIP and IMS test platforms
