This is a mainstream router that is used in a lot of homes and small businesses. This router costs less than $20 and can be found practically anywhere.
2. If you are looking for the best router under $50, I would have to say from my experience that the Linksys WRT54G2 router is the best. It supports 802.11G but not 802.11N. 802.11N is a new wireless standard but most laptops cannot use 802.11N themselves so this is not a big deal.
3. A good, cheap wireless router will usually be sufficient for the average user. If you just need a basic network or wireless, do not spend hundreds of dollars on a router. Those types of routers are meant for businesses and usually include hard to use firewalls and extra features that the average user will not use.
